Q4. Icon, Kendall Jenner

I don’t have a favorite cultural icon, but I do have someone that I admire. Everybody always makes fun of their family because the kids are famous for no reason. I don’t really admire the older girls as much as the younger ones. The reason why I look up to the Jenner Girls is because of their personalities. I obviously don’t know them personally but I do watch their their reality show on E network. I really look up to Kendall because we are closer in age and I feel like I can relate to her more than the other girls. I do realize that reality shows are more staged than being their normal selves but just reading their interviews and articles in magazines express themselves. The reason why I look up to her so much is because she is a giving person, rather than always wanting to receive it. I remember watching an episode where her and her sister, Kylie, and their father, Bruce, took both of them to a homeless shelter to see the kind of lives they live. Both of the girls didn’t want to go because they had plans with their friends, but at the end they both told the media that they were really glad they went and just to know that they brightened up their day made them only feel better too. What exactly take a person to be iconic? I really think that anyone can be iconic to anyone. People just look up to people in different ways. I feel that a person makes a good icon by the choices they make. That’s why I look up to Kendall, because of several reasons. Kendall knew that school comes over her work any day. That’s is exactly why she persuaded her parent to let her be home schooled rather than attend a public school because she was unable to attend school due to her hectic schedule. With her schedule she kept missing more and more school and it made them both upset.

Q3. English Book

Even though I really don’t like to read there were actually a few books I liked. In English this year we read a play, “The Crucible” and a novel, “The Catcher in the Rye.” Those were my two favorites that we read this year in English 11. Also last year in English one of my favorite books we read as a class was “The Book Thief.” If I had to choose out of those three books I would have to say that reading “The Crucible” was my favorite to read for various reasons. First off Mr. Currin made us act the whole play out and it was hilarious. I think my favorite acting part out of the whole play was when Lauren jumped out the window and ran away. Also Zach Miner played a main role in the play and he got “fired” from his job because he was talking in a weird funny accent. Basically he was acting like him typical self. I also liked how everyone had the chance to act a part in the play, whether it was from a small character to a main role in the play. It was really funny to see everyone try to act out parts in front of the whole class. Everyone would get a good laugh out of it. The only thing I didn’t like about the play was the test we took after it. I completely bombed that test.  Lastly I also liked reading “The Catcher in the Rye” because once again Mr. Currin made us interact with the book. That novel was really easy to understand, and I like books that are easy to understand. Lastly I also liked last year was The Book Thief. The novel was very educational. It was about the Holocaust. Although I found it very hard to understand at times. But that’s just because I don’t really comprehend reading that well.

Q2. Summer

School is quickly coming to another end and we all know what that means summer!! The time of the year everyone loves. I have many plans for this summer.  It is going to be the best summer yet. I basically already have my whole summer played out. I plan on working a tremendous amount of time. I work about 14 hours a week just when school is in session, so I am hoping when summer starts I get at least 20 hours if not more. Although it’s going to be hard working that much with cheerleading starting soon. Also this summer I am going on a road trip to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with my friends. We’re going the Fourth of July weekend to see Taylor Swift’s Red Tour. We are all going with my one friend’s family, and I’m pretty positive they are going to hate us by the end of the trip. We 3 girls always cause trouble when we are together. More than likely we are going to destroy our hotel room. I am super excited to go to Pittsburgh especially because I’ve never been there before. Then only one week later I’m going to another concert, Justin Bieber.  My one sister, Amber bought my ticket for my birthday and we are also taking my oldest sister, Michelle. Words can’t even explain how happy I am for this concert! I also pan on going to the beach like every possible day I get the chance to. A major thing I need to focus on this summer is attending college visits. This is why this summer is extremely important. Lastly this summer I’m going to spend a lot of time with my friends and family! Every summer we have a fourth of July party with our whole family and close family friends.
