Even though I really don’t like to read there were actually
a few books I liked. In English this year we read a play, “The Crucible” and a
novel, “The Catcher in the Rye.” Those were my two favorites that we read this
year in English 11. Also last year in English one of my favorite books we read
as a class was “The Book Thief.” If I had to choose out of those three books I
would have to say that reading “The Crucible” was my favorite to read for
various reasons. First off Mr. Currin made us act the whole play out and it was
hilarious. I think my favorite acting part out of the whole play was when
Lauren jumped out the window and ran away. Also Zach Miner played a main role
in the play and he got “fired” from his job because he was talking in a weird
funny accent. Basically he was acting like him typical self. I also liked how
everyone had the chance to act a part in the play, whether it was from a small
character to a main role in the play. It was really funny to see everyone try
to act out parts in front of the whole class. Everyone would get a good laugh
out of it. The only thing I didn’t like about the play was the test we took
after it. I completely bombed that test. Lastly I also liked reading “The Catcher in
the Rye” because once again Mr. Currin made us interact with the book. That
novel was really easy to understand, and I like books that are easy to
understand. Lastly I also liked last year was The Book Thief. The novel was very educational. It was about the
Holocaust. Although I found it very hard to understand at times. But that’s
just because I don’t really comprehend reading that well.
