About 3 weeks ago I started my first real job. I work
Jeanettie’s, an ice cream place just down the road from where I live. I usually
work with one other person so there are two of us working at a time. I am still
technically training because I haven’t started working alone just quite yet.
But I basically know everything there is to know. My first few days working
there was a little overwhelming just because I was learning everything. I mean
there are still a few things that I don’t know how to make yet only because no
one has ordered it yet. Going into my third week I felt a lot more confident
with my job now, and I am starting to show it too. Usually I work either 3 or 4
hours which isn’t too bad with school right now. I am hoping over the summer I
receive more hours. Also that’s what my parents asked for was to work a few
days out of the week. I usually work about 12 hours a week. One thing I like
about my job is that pay day is on Wednesday which is right in the middle of
the week. My first day of work I went into the job thinking it was going to be
extremely hard learning how to make everything and by the third or fourth day I
basically knew how to do everything. This job is really easy. All it is
basically is just a lot of cleaning, which I don’t mind because that’s super
easy! When we close up at 9pm we have an entire of list of things we need to
clean and wash out. For example we have to clean the floors and tables and all
the ice cream machines and utensils. So far I love my first job!
