C3. Homecoming!

The only reason why I look forward to back to school is because of Homecoming Week in September. Homecoming week has to be one of my favorite weeks throughout the school year. Even though it’s probably one of the most stressful weeks, of course after exam weeks, for myself because there is just so much going on with sporting events and extracurricular activities. After homecoming week ended I am not going to lie I was a little bit depressed. The events kicked off Thursday night with the parade with the class float while following up with an outstanding powder puff game, although it was spirit week. The float and hallway decorating theme this year was book series. As being part of the junior class we were given the theme of Dr. Seuss, and we won hallway decorating and were awarded with the best float.  During the school day on Thursday things were getting started with the in school pep-rally. The varsity cheerleaders pumped up the school by showing off a part of their routine. After their performance the 2012 homecoming court was announced and Senior Emily Galbraith was homecoming queen and Senior Jim Rutowski was homecoming king. Thursday night was the homecoming parade that featured the floats, Alden High School Band, and a Rachel’s Challenge group that walked with the school mascot. The part I looked forward to all schools day was the Powder Puff football game. Once again the junior class was part of the winning team with the sophomore class. The junior class is now 3-0! Both teams played outstanding on both sides of the ball. I absolutely love powder puff and I look forward to it every year because it’s only once a year thing and girl have the chance to play football.  I would have to say I was proud to be part of the Junior/Sophomore 2012 team. Friday was the big day in the town of Alden, it was the big day for out varsity football team. Not only was it just the homecoming game but it was against the Depew Wildcats who was number 2. Lastly Saturday was the night of the dance. Before the dance I hung out with my girls and we all got ready together, then a group of people came over for group and individual pictures. The dance was a blast! I had a fun time dancing with all my friends, but when the night ended I was sad to see homecoming week come to an end.
